A year ago today...

A year ago today, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes - here is that blog...

A year later it is still an adjustment. A costly adjustment too. It has been a roller-coaster. A special thanks to family & friends for their encouragement and support.

I've since stopped drinking regular Mountain Dew, joined a gym, and watched my diet. I've since lost a significant amount of weight.

It isn't easy, but it is manageable. I try and stay away from my mind thinking about the long-term possible effects, esp with my eyes.

So, any chance you have to support diabetic cure research - please do!

My niece has type 2 and she's only 8. I can't think of her long-term affects, either.

Our family took a "Walk for the Cure" earlier this year to support diabetes research.

Glad to see you have it under control. Keep up the good work!
