A co-worker sent me a writer contest in which authors can submit a first chapter.
The chapter goes through a series of judges. A few selected are chosen and asked to submit a second chapter and then a third. Around May, a winner is selected with a book deal as a prize and some $$$.
So go figure, I'll send my first chapter since I have the first 10 chapters written already – rough, but written. So, winner or not, it will keep me going on it – although it would be nice to be selected as a finalist.
I could submit the chapter now as the contest started today, but I have awhile until the first chapter deadline – so I'll be doing some reworks and asking a few select people to give me an constructive feedback.
