Today’s word of the day...

defalcation’ :
1. the act or an instance of embezzling
2. a failure to meet a promise or an expectation

The second definition hit me. I’m thinking of all the times people failed to meet a promise to me or an expectation I had of them that didn’t pan out.

At the same time, I’m thinking about the broken promises I made or the expectations people had of me – and I let them down.

Good stuff for a book...
